I have always been in good physical shape. When I started training at Psycho Gym, I was getting personal training & cycling 2 to 3 times per week and playing league doubles & singles tennis 4 times per week. I was in good shape when I started & was concerned that it might not be challenging enough for me. Boy, was I wrong! It is incredibly challenging, always changing, fun, affordable, & has improved my fitness level beyond my expectations. The conditioning I have gone through with Psycho Gym has helped all aspects of my competitive life. Psycho Gym is the best workout, conditioning, and training program that I have found. Trust me, I’ve tried them all! I have spent years rotating between sports, activities, gyms, meal plans, etc., looking for that perfect combination that will keep my body (and metabolism!) guessing! Typically, when I stay with an activity for an extended length of time, I plateau. With Psycho Gym, the workouts keep my body as well as my mind active and alert. After two months of hard, Psycho work, I made the leap from running half marathons to running a full marathon. I’m thrilled that I finally found a place that challenges me, mixes it up, and has quickly bumped me into a new bracket of competition.

I am in my fourth year of training at Psycho Gym. We established a set
of goals from the very beginning, and those goals are being met. Since
I am what you might call a “seasoned citizen”, my goals have been to
increase strength, flexibility, balance and overall fitness. I can

I started my Psycho Gym experience doing 1-on-1 training with Travis. After just the first week I noticed a difference in how my body felt – this program was like nothing I’d ever seen! Six months later I am still working out – I attend 2 classes a week at the Deep Ellum location. I really enjoy the intensity of the classes. I LOVE PSYCHO GYM! It isn’t the typical gym of treadmills, stationary bikes, dumbbells or people “eying” you to see if you’re “hot.” Everyone comes in with specific goals, works hard and is supportive of each other. The training is difficult, if done correctly, but the results are worth the hard work. I always tell new members this: If you’re not dying by the end of the 2nd set, you’re not doing it correctly. As a marathon runner, I used to “run to train” and would waste 1-2.5 hours each day running. After training with Travis, I realized that I was skinny-fat and not skinny-fit. He whipped me into shape and since then, my workouts are much shorter and more infrequent, all my race times have significantly improved and I have stopped running completely to train for races. Now, I “train to run” by staying fit with an extremely strong core. My recovery times for a half marathon to marathon are max 1-2 days whereas it takes me anywhere from 3-6 days to recover from group training. The type of training (explosive, interval, circuit, core, kettle bell, etc.) they put everyone through emphasizes natural, every day movements that can be modified based on skill level and physical limitations (even if injured).

I have participated in Psycho Gym boot camp classes with both Travis and Madeline, and both have endeared me to the training philosophy of Psycho Gym as well as the trainers themselves, who are personally invested in helping me achieve the goals I set. The plan is fool proof. Clients are given a diet to follow and a training system that ensures a strong, slim, beautiful physique. If the client holds up his or her end of the bargain by following the diet and regularly attending class, amazing results are guaranteed. Group classes are social, and constructively competitive. Class sizes are limited so each person in the group receives individual attention and instruction. In the time that I have trained at Psycho Gym, my self-esteem has phenomenally increased, and I have developed a physique that I love.
